What will you be working with?

As a health economist, you will:

  • Perform health economic analyses and develop health economic models.
  • Write and review reports and analyses within health economics.
  • Contribute to development work regarding the application of health economic methods.
  • In addition, other standard tasks for investigators at the Agency will be included, such as handling unit administration and participating in meetings.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

  • A university degree with a focus on health economics or other education relevant to the position.
  • At least three years of practical professional experience in health economic work after completing your education.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

In addition, we view the following competencies, skills, and experiences as important for you to thrive with us:

Great importance is attached to:

  • Very good knowledge of cost-effectiveness analyses within health economics.
  • Good knowledge of health economic methods.
  • Experience working at a Swedish state authority within the healthcare sector.
  • Personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, responsibility, communication skills, analytical ability, holistic perspective, and good interpersonal skills.

Considerable importance is attached to:

  • Good knowledge of the Swedish healthcare system and its data registers.
  • Experience in writing reports, as well as presenting results both in writing and orally.
  • Experience using statistical analysis programs, such as R.
  • Experience working with health economic models.

Importance is attached to:

  • Basic knowledge of statistics and econometrics.

What does the unit do?

The Analysis Unit works with analyses and forecasts to contribute to a more effective public health effort. The unit is responsible for developing methods and providing support within statistics, health economics, and modeling.

About the employment

You will be employed as an investigator with placement at our office in Solna or Östersund. The employment is a fixed-term appointment on a full-time basis during the period September 2026 – March 2027.

As an employee of the Public Health Agency, you may be assigned to wartime duties. Some positions are classified with security clearance where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the Agency, there may be an opportunity to conclude an agreement for remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
